Courseware

  • Merlot: Merlot (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching)is a free and open resource of online learning materials designed primarily for faculty and students of higher education. Merlot is a searchable collection of peer-reviewed online learning materials, or “learning objects”. These are distinct and disparate works, organized by academic discipline, learning objectives and comments. Peers in the Merlot community review and rate contributed “learning objects”, and users can search on the most popular elements.
  • Open Courseware Consortium: The OpenCourseWare Consortium is a collaboration of more than 100 higher education institutions and associated organizations from around the world creating a broad and deep body of open educational content using a shared model. The mission of the OpenCourseWare Consortium is to advance education and empower people worldwide through opencourseware.
  • Open Courseware Initiative: MIT OCW is a large-scale, web-based electronic publishing initiative funded jointly by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation , MIT, and the Ab Initio software company. MIT OCW's goals are to provide free, searchable access to MIT's course materials for educators, students, and self-learners around the world; extend the reach and impact of MIT OCW and the "opencourseware" concept.
  • Tufts OpenCourseware: Tufts OpenCourseWare is part of a new educational movement initiated by MIT that provides free access to course content for everyone online. Tufts' initial course offerings demonstrate the University's strength in the life sciences in addition to its multidisciplinary approach, international perspective and underlying ethic of service to its local, national and international communities. Tufts OCW publishes Tufts course materials, does not require any registration, does not grant credit, degrees, or certificates, does not provide access to Tufts faculty; however feedback is shared.
  • webAssign: An online homework delivery service that includes a large database of homework problems based on multiple textbooks in many math, science, and engineering subject areas. This product enables faculty teaching largest lecture classes to assign and track homework that is automatically graded. Students are presented with customized problems sets and receive feedback on their responses.
