  • Customer perception assessment: Evaluated publisher and retailer perception of an eBook wholesale company as a basis for determining future digital strategy. (Wholesale17)
  • Small publisher ePublishing strategy: Developed and implemented an eBook and print-on-demand distribution strategy for a small publisher, selecting formats and channels within which to distribute their titles. (Trade15)
  • XML readiness assessment: Worked with a large Higher Education publisher to evaluate titles and supplementary materials across a variety of disciplines and assess XML "readiness" and determine a strategy for implementing a comprehensive XML-first production process. (HE3)
  • Public domain ePublishing strategy: Founded a print-on-demand and eBook publishing entity that has more than 1,500 titles published and being sold through online retail and wholesale channels such as bn.com and Lightning Source. Program required the development of editorial, managing editorial, rights clearance and production capabilities within a very small team with no previous experience in these functions. (retail4)
  • Content readiness improvement: Developed and implemented a learning content metadata and content readiness strategy, leading to 90% of titles being created in an XML-first workflow, 96% with full electronic, worldwide rights and 100% available as digital files. (HE13)
  • Learning management system consolidation: Directed the task force assigned to consolidate eLearning platforms of multiple acquired companies as part of an initiative to merge the Higher Ed and Career and Professional Groups of this publisher. (HE14)
  • Digital business plan: Developed the business plan for an industry collective designed to digitally distribute higher education learning materials. The entity has grown from a domestic U.S. operation servicing the sampling needs of five publishers to an international presence providing digital textbooks and interactive course materials representing over 90% of the core higher education titles in use today.
