- Standards development: Participated in the ONIX for subrights committee convened at Frankfurt 2001. The purpose of the committee is to define metadata standards around exchange of rights information. (service3)
- Image permissions sourcing: Directed the team negotiating a contract with a major image source, substantially reducing the cost of images and simplifying the terms under which they could be used. This approach became the model used in all subsequent agreements and across other classes of Intellectual Property agreements. (HE15)
- Integrated Rights Management: Implemented systems and processes to capture assets to be used in a product, both new and re-used from a previous edition, and drive them through research, clearance and payment activities for new editions. Modified existing rights systems to capture a brader range of rights information that is now used for reporting and remediation of potential term and audience/print run constraints. The revised approach allows for capture and processing of permissions/rights information for all asset types including print excerpts, images and media as they are used in print and digital products. (HE30)
- Recovery and documentation of legacy contracts: Drove project to capture years of rights information that were missing, stored in file cabinets, or in boxes of paper records in deep storage on legacy assets to allow their appropriate use and re-use in digital products. (HE34)
